Memorial Day Thoughts by Dr. Max D. Younce

Standing Watch - by Frank Glick

Memorial Day is when we remember those who gave their lives to insure the freedom we enjoy today. When a nation is built upon the Word of God, then God's Word given to Israel may be applicable.

"No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper” (Isaiah 54:17).

We are in the last days before the Rapture. The only hope for America, today, is to plead the grace of God to withhold His judgment. Listen to the Lord's words written over 2000 years ago in 2 Timothy 3:1-4,

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. (1) For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, (2) Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, (3) Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;  (2 Timothy 3:1-4}.

Christians, if we ever needed to pray, we need to now! In Proverbs 15:29 the Lord says,

" ... he heareth the prayer of the righteous."

In Psalms 9: 17 we are told that,

"The wicked shall be turned into Hell and all the nations that forgot God"

Individuals, like a nation, will suffer destruction if they die in their sins. God says that we all have sinned and the wages of that sin is death. Our sin must be paid for ... either we pay for it ourselves or we accept the payment God’s Son, Jesus Christ made for us.

You see, God loved the world so much…

“…that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever (You could write your name here.) believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

Then, as Christians, we ought to thank God for the privilege of living in the greatest nation in the entire world. America can be what it was once before if Christians will assume their responsibility by: first, winning others to Christ; secondly, by standing proudly, upholding God, country, decency, justice and righteousness and; thirdly, be on our Knees to God asking His mercy to spare a sin-sick nation. This we can do as we attempt to restore our country to the greatness she once had.

Will you do your part?
